ABOUT US:

MEET THE TEAM

Our Founder

Ramiro Caroprese is, above all, a man of his land.

Before he is a founder, an exporter, or a businessman, he is a coffee man: someone whose life and work are deeply connected to the soil, the harvest, and the people of Cesar, Colombia. His passion for coffee is not something created for a brand; it is something lived every day, shaped by years of dedication, patience, and respect for the craft.

For Ramiro, doing things properly has always mattered more than doing them quickly. Before launching Muskox internationally, he spent six years developing the coffee, refining the processes behind it, and investing in the machinery, technology, and knowledge needed to achieve the quality he believed was possible. Every stage, from production to processing, was studied, tested, improved, and perfected with one purpose: to build something worthy of the farmers, the land, and the roasters who would one day share these coffees with the world.

His vision for Muskox comes from a simple but powerful belief: that great coffee should be built on patience, integrity, and care from the very beginning. Ramiro understands business, but he has never seen coffee as just a business. To him, it is a responsibility: to his community, to the producers he works alongside, and to every person who trusts Muskox to deliver Colombian coffee with quality, traceability, and purpose.

gustavo

Quality Control

Raised among coffee fields and working alongside his family from a young age, Gustavo Vargas grew up understanding the care, patience, and discipline behind every harvest. As a third-generation coffee grower, his relationship with coffee is both inherited and deeply personal.

After finishing school, Gustavo moved to Pueblo Bello to study engineering, a step that gave him a new perspective on the work he had always known. By combining his roots as a grower with the precision and curiosity of an engineer, he began to identify opportunities to improve coffee production and processing. This journey eventually led him to create his own brand, OLGUS, built from the belief that quality is never accidental. It is the result of knowledge, resilience, and a constant desire to do things better.

For Gustavo, coffee is deeply human. As he says, “Coffee is the most beautiful thing I have ever known… it is a way to make friends, to share, and to enjoy joyful moments.” His path has not been without challenges, especially when it came to exporting and understanding the details of threshing, storage, and preserving quality beyond the farm. But every difficulty became an opportunity to learn, refine, and strengthen his work. Today, as Head of Quality Control at Muskox, Gustavo brings together experience, technical insight, and a profound respect for origin, making sure that every coffee meets the standards our producers and roasters deserve.
